For nearly two decades, My Painted Porch has been my creative sanctuary. Hand-crafting and designing vintage home decor signs while living life on Canada's East Coast has taught me everything I know about design, grit, and building a business with true integrity. As a mom and wife, balancing this journey hasn't always been easy, but it has always been authentic.
Back in 2021, I felt inspired to take my love for rugged, coastal aesthetics and our lifestyle in Northern NB, Canada, and channel it into something new. I quietly founded North 48°® Clothing Co. with the goal of designing premium, durable everyday apparel built for real life. Building a brand the right way takes immense patience. While others in the business world might rush a concept to market or mimic an established aesthetic, true craftsmanship cannot be fast-tracked.
Taking the simple "™" symbol to the official legally protected "®" symbol of
an official Canadian brand would prove no overnight easy feat. After years of behind-the-scenes dedication eventho with an active Etsy shop under the same name since 2022, I hit a massive milestone this past March when I officially secured the federal registered trademark for the brand after a very long 2.5 yr application process.
